ORIGIN
The Healthy Minds Club was born out of heartbreak but driven by hope. In 2019, following the loss of our close friend Dan Hosking to suicide, we came together determined to create change. Dan’s passing was a powerful reminder of the urgent need for more grassroots mental health support in our community. What began as a small group of friends honouring his memory has since grown into a registered charity delivering workshops, events, and partnerships that continue to break stigma and build resilience across the Northern Rivers.

PROGRAMS AND MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT
Our work focuses on prevention, education, and connection. We deliver both school-based and free community-based programs that promote resilience, awareness, and wellbeing across the Northern Rivers. Alongside these programs, we host major community events, provide sponsorships for junior sporting clubs, and support grassroots initiatives that encourage participation and inclusion. We also offer funding to help individuals bridge the gap of the mental health plan, making sure financial limitations never stand in the way of accessing essential support.

FUTURE ASPIRATIONS
Looking ahead, The Healthy Minds Club is committed to strengthening and expanding our impact across schools, community groups, and individuals. We aim to grow both school-based and community-based programs so that education, prevention, and wellbeing support are accessible to everyone. We will continue to develop sustainable annual events such as the Folded Music Festival, Charity Golf Day, and Tag Team Surf Event, building them into signature platforms for awareness and fundraising. We are also focused on increasing our capacity to provide financial assistance to individuals who need help bridging the gap of the mental health plan, ensuring that access to care is never determined by cost. Above all, our aspiration is to remain a grassroots organisation that adapts to the evolving needs of our community, creating lasting change through connection, awareness, and support.
